This morning I was ‘running late,’ I was rushing to cram everything I wanted to in so that I could get to work on time (sound familiar).
I was up early to do my mindset work and my writing to set myself up for the day and getting ready for the day – you know the normal ‘Mum and Wife stuff’ has to be done on occasion right??
And I was feeling the pressure of running out of time.
I was feeling the pressure of having to get stuff done.
I then I snapped and heard myself say “I HAVE TO GO TO THE GYM… I HAVE TO MOVE MY BODY!”
And it clicked. It stopped me in my tracks actually.
I HAVE TO GO TO THE GYM
Not because I “have to” do them, but because I can’t NOT do them. But because doing these things, like moving my body, like taking amazing care of myself, like taking the time for a massage, like doing my mindset work is simply a part of WHO I AM!!!
What really made me stop in my tracks was the energy that I had around going to the gym so that I could move my body.
How every cell of my body was craving to move
How every cell of my body was ready to move
How every part of me wanted to move because I CAN’T NOT, because that is WHO I AM, because me moving my body every single day in some way shape or form is simply a reflection of WHO I AM as a person
It’s a part of my identity
It’s deeply connected to WHO I AM as a person and how I see myself
It’s deeply connected to me bringing MY PURPOSE and MY DEEP WHY to life
I want you to STOP and ask yourself are you doing things because you “have to” do them OR are you doing things because you “HAVE TO” do them, because you can’t not?
Here’s how HAVING TO DO THINGS used to go down for me.
I HAVE TO go to the gym because otherwise I’ll get fat
I HAVE TO eat this food because if I don’t then I’ll put on weight
I CAN’T eat that food because if I do, then I won’t be able to stop and then I’ll put on weight again and then I’ll have to go on another diet, yet again.
I HAVE TO go to the gym, because I’ve been so lazy this week and I’m feeling disgusting
I HAVE TO drink my greens drink because “X” said so
FEEL THE DIFFERENCE?
I HAVE TO MOVE MY BODY BECAUSE …
It gives me energy
It makes me a better Mum
It makes me a better Wife
It makes me a better Chiropractor
It means that I show up better for my clients
It means that I think clearer
It means that I have more ideas
It means that I’m more creative
It means that I fire up my metabolism for the day
It means that I FEEL the way that I want to feel
It means that I’m honouring my commitments to myself
It means that I’m acting from integrity about the type of person that I have decided I am and committed to being NOW
Where are you selling yourself short?
Where are you NOT committing to yourself?
Where are you doing things because you HAVE to do them?
Where are you doing things because you think it means something about you if you don’t do them?
Where are you doing things from a place of FEAR and SELF DISGUST or HATE rather than from a place of LOVE and RESPECT for yourself. A deep respect for WHO YOU ARE as a woman and because it elevates every other area of your life in so many ways.
What if you could change that around completely?
What if you could start doing things because you CAN’T NOT rather than from the place of HAVING TO for the sake of it?
Do you know the difference?
Do you feel the difference?
Do you recognise the difference within yourself?
ARE YOU READY TO FLICK THE SWITCH AND MAKE THE CHANGE WITHIN YOURSELF AND LET THAT FLOW INTO YOUR ACTIONS?
